October InCalf Symposium

The second InCalf Reproduction Symposium was held on Monday 5th October 2015 in Melbourne. This event was designed for all people interested in herd reproduction on Australian dairy farms: veterinarians, artificial breeding advisers, factory field officers, herd improvement companies and other dairy advisers.

The program included international and Australian experts providing updates on the genetics of fertility, advances in sexed semen technologies and the role of fertility in farm business performance.

As for the previous InCalf Symposium, this event was held in conjunction with the Countdown Mastitis Symposium (on Tuesday 6th October).

InCalf case studies – seasonal calving without use of induction

Dairy Australia's InCalf program is producing a series of case studies featuring farmers achieving good herd reproductive performance without using calving induction. These are appearing as articles in the Australian Dairyfarmer Magazine and as a series of video interviews.
