Fertility Focus Report

‘The InCalf Fertility Focus Report is an easy-to-read single-page report that allows dairy farmers to compare with confidence the results of their herd’s reproductive performance year to year, with other herds and with what’s possible. It also helps identify priorities for action.

Each InCalf Fertility Focus Report also includes a supporting page called ‘Behind your Fertility Focus Report’. This page provides a summary of the herd records used to produce the report and explanations of what records were used to calculate the measures and why some measures may not have been calculated.

Where and how can I get a report for my herd?

If your herd records are collected by your local Herd Improvement Centre or adviser, contact them to ask if they are accredited by InCalf to provide you with a Fertility Focus Report, and if so, request that they print off a report for your herd for the year you are interested in.

If you enter your herd’s records yourself on a farm computer using a herd management software program which has been accredited by InCalf, you should be able to print off a report yourself.

What records do I need to produce a report?

Producing a report is easy because it is generated from herd records already collected by your herd recording data processing centre or adviser, or which you enter yourself on a farm computer using a herd management software program.

The level of analysis of your herd's fertility given by the InCalf Fertility Focus Report will be either detailed, intermediate or basic, depending on the type and amount of herd records provided by you.

Even with very basic records, a useful basic analysis of your herd's performance can be conducted. With more comprehensive records, an intermediate or detailed analysis can be conducted.
