In 2005 Sonia Cousins traded science and technology for cheese, and has since established herself as one of Sydney’s best fromagers. She was instrumental in opening Sydney’s first dedicated cheese and wine restaurant; GPO Cheese & Wine Room, specialising in matching wines with seasonal cheeses from Australia and around the world.

Sonia is an experienced presenter and facilitates cheese and wine appreciation events for corporate groups and members of the public on a regular basis. She is a passionate advocate for small cheese producers, particularly in New South Wales.

Her judging credits include the Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce Show, ASCA Sydney Show, and the World Cheese Awards in Spain (2009) and the UK (2010).
