Breakfast Tips

  • While cereal is a great way to get a serve of milk in the morning, sometimes it gets left in the bottom of the bowl, meaning kids miss out on their daily calcium boost! Try including a small glass of milk before or after breaky to ensure they’ve had at least one serve of dairy before school

  • For something a bit special, spread cream cheese or ricotta on fruit toast with a drizzle of honey

  • Try making a whole container of bircher muesli at the start of the week and that way you have breaky for you and the kids ready to go

  • In the warmer months, try making a whole container of fruit salad and serve with yogurt for breakfast, sprinkle with a little cereal or muesli for crunch

  • In the cooler months, a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich can be an ideal breakfast. You can even have them ready to go in the fridge the night before

  • Next time you make scrambled eggs, try throwing in a bit of feta or handful of cheddar cheese

  • For mum’s weekend special, make a french toast buffet! For savoury, add a little grated parmesan cheese and parsley to the egg mixture. For sweet, simply top with cinnamon sugar or maple syrup and fresh fruit.
