Dental Health

In addition to oral hygiene, good nutrition and eating habits play an important role in preventing dental disease. Dairy foods have a specific role to play in dental health as they contain a unique combination of special anti-decay nutrients such as calcium, phosphorus and the protein, casein. The Australian Dental Association recommends having a small piece of cheese after consuming sugary food or drink to help protect teeth and reduce the risk of tooth decay.

More information on dairy foods and dental health can be found in Dairy Australia’s Dental Health fact sheet.
