Library & information services

Dairy Australia Library houses a unique collection of key dairy industry works (in print and electronic format), reference materials, dairy history, dairy science and technology, agricultural science, farm management, economics and trade, market intelligence and research content.

We provide a range of information services and resources for our clients who are members of the dairy industry.

Members of the public such as consumers, students, and job seekers are able to access and download information directly from the Dairy Australia website.

Opening Hours

Monday - Friday from 9am to 5pm. We're closed weekends and public holidays.

Information services

Borrow an item

Clients* can search the library catalogue ‘tag’ and add items to the info cart. Select ‘info cart’ and ’ press GO. Fill in your email details and postal address. Items will be delivered by post unless the items are in a digital format.


Request peer reviewed articles

Fill in the copyright declaration form and provide the citation details (title, author, journal title, year, volume, page) . and remember to ‘submit’ the request.


Request an in-depth literature review or patent search

Fill in the attached research form, include as much information as possible including the date required and submit the request.

Current dairy industry information can be downloaded from Dairy Australia’s website at no charge.

The Dairy Australia library is open to Australian dairy industry groups as listed below:

  • Dairy farmers
  • Dairy Australia staff
  • Allied organisations (e.g. Regional Development Programs, NCDEA, Dairy Innovation Australia Limited, Gardiner Foundation)
  • Dairy companies and manufacturers*
  • Scientists and researchers working in the dairy industry*
  • Dairy organisations (eg. Australian Dairy Farmers, United Dairy Farmers of Victoria)
  • Relevant government departmental staff (DPI)*


Other Professional Groups

  • Agricultural educators and allied libraries*
  • Health professionals and dietitians consulting for Dairy Australia
  • International dairy groups


*A nominal administration fee may apply for some services and research.
