Final Reports
Final Reports are normally required for Research and Development (R&D) projects. The Standard Project Agreement used by Dairy Australia, sets out the following aspects that must be addressed in such a report.
Project Report
- The final Project report must be provided on the date that the final Milestone is due. The final Project report shall be in a form and level of detail acceptable to Dairy Australia. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the final Project report shall include:
- a non- technical executive summary of no more than two pages in length which contains an introduction, summary of findings, set of recommendations addressing Commercialisation of the Project results including any Generated Intellectual Property, and any recommendations as to appropriate further research;
- background to the project;
- objectives of the project;
- a statement of the extent to which the Research Organisation has achieved those objectives, or an explanation as to why any objective was not achieved;
- introductory technical information concerning the problem or research need;
- a description and justification of the research methodology used;
- detailed research results, including a statistical analysis thereof;
- a discussion of the research results including an analysis and comparison of the research results in light of the research objectives;
- an assessment of the importance and impact of the research results upon the Australian dairy industry;
- the Research Organisation's assessment, if any, of the cost/benefit implications of the research results to the Australian dairy industry;
- a detailed account of any publications or publicity and any attempts to Commercialise Generated Intellectual Property;
- a statement of future research needs;
- a description of any Generated Intellectual Property arising from the Project, including the commercial implications thereof;
- a technical summary of all information including any knowledge relating to methodology or equipment design developed as part of the research;
- recommendations as to further research to be undertaken or strategies for Commercialisation of Generated Intellectual Property which would benefit the Australian dairy industry.
- Copyright in all reports furnished by the Research Organisation to Dairy Australia under this agreement is owned by Dairy Australia and is hereby assigned to Dairy Australia. The Research Organisation shall have an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty free licence to use the reports for the purposes set out in Clause 10 hereof.
Dairy Australia also usually retains half the final quarterly payment until the Final Report is accepted.
