Need/issue:
Dairy farmers operate in a range of locations and climatic conditions. It is important to recognise these regional differences when developing R, D and E priorities pre farm gate. The RDPs provide this important link between DA and the dairying regions in both determining priorities and needs but also in the delivery of programs.
With ever reducing funding available for R, D and E, the dairy industry needs to work cooperatively across state boundaries and jurisdictions to maximise the collaboration and effectiveness of R, D and E resources. The process through which dairy is developing this national framework is the Dairy Moving Forward project.
Project objective:
Maximise delivery of Dairy Australia’s pre-farmgate programs.
Ensure that DA’s planning process is aligned with the broader industry priorities.
