Health & nutrition policy & industry engagement
Background:
Food and nutrition policy can impact dairy consumption. The current policy environment is dynamic with much focus and activity on a National Food Plan and nutrition issues across the whole of govenment. The dairy industry needs to develop the capability to influence the policy debate, and provide a strong, defendable scientific position on dairy nutrition issues.
Dairy Australia’s ability to deliver its Health and Nutrition Program objectives relies on the ability to establish, build and manage key influencer relationships with a range of stakeholders including policy setters and influencers, external stakeholders and the dairy industry. Managing these relationships can be complex and it is important to have a coordinated long-term approach.
Project objective:
To develop a long-term strategic plan of engagement with key health and nutrition policy setters, influencers and the dairy industry that will support dairy consumption.
Project scope:
Key activities include:
- relationship engagement/management with external policy setters, policy influencer organisations, and the dairy industry
- sharing and communicating relevant dairy nutrition science and insights
- implementation of a systematic approach to coordinate dairy industry health and nutrition policy submissions/consultations
This project is an enabler for the delivery of other health and nutrition projects.
Outcomes/benefits:
