Market management

Need/issue:

Domestically and internationally, a barrier to increased consumption of dairy is low consumer/buyer consciousness of the role of dairy in diet and limited practical knowledge of how to regularly include more Australian dairy in diets.

There are significant market failure risks in developing this information at company level. Therefore, developing and disseminating this knowledge via industry level programs provides a cost effective and efficient solution for industry stakeholders.

Program objective:

Promote the benefits of Australian dairy foods and their application into daily diets through a range of industry level knowledge platforms.

Domestically develop and disseminate positive education materials for target audiences, and develop food education initiatives for individual firms on a competitive cost basis.

Internationally work closely with exporters to educate customers/ buyers in target markets on key characteristics of Australian dairy including functionality/ safety and application of Australian dairy ingredients in order to improve perceived value and confidence attached to Australian dairy and increase commercial sales opportunities.

Projects:

Internationally, this program is closely linked to Dairy Australia's market access program.

Domestically, the program is linked to our target health & nutrition drivers and heath & nutrition policy & influencers programs.
