Industry planning & policy support
Background:
Industry groups and firms regularly review their planning horizon. Dairy Australia engages in these reviews as an integral part of our strategic planning process.
This allows for identification of emerging issues and our role in assisting stakeholders develop effective responses.
There is also a need for Dairy Australia to support representative organisations in developing policy responses to specific industry issues, ie the Murray Darling Basin Plan.
Project objective:
Ensure the timely identification of emerging issues and challenges, and secure agreement on Dairy Australia's role in providing inputs that will assist stakeholders to plan/develop effective responses to these challenges.
Project scope:
Dairy Australia has a comprehensive and transparent strategic planning process. Where requested it also coordinates analysis that used to develop/assess alternative industry level strategies and responses.
We also provide specific technical support and analysis to other industry organisations to ensure there is an coordinated response to industry level challenges, policy reviews and inquiries.
Outcomes/benefits:
Timely identification of industry issues, and effective planning to address these issues, is crucial to the sustainability of the industry.
The dairy industry can and does respond in a coordinated and effective manner to policy reviews and emerging issues which will impact on its future viability.
Change plans are derived from agreed strategies that are supported by industry stakeholders.
Dairy Australia’s strategic and annual operating plan is integrated and closely aligns with agreed stakeholder priorities, strategic objectives and planned activities.
