Background:

Dairy Australia has a role in commissioning and purchasing pre-competitive market research for use by industry. This enables the cost of research into prospect markets or new product developments to be shared more widely, preventing duplication and reducing the overall cost of gaining this intelligence.

Project objective:

To fill information gaps on international markets with pre-competitive research for use by Dairy Australia and industry to assist in the shaping of more effective trade policy responses.

Project scope:

The key activities include the commissioning of research into products and markets that have been identified by industry participants and internal stakeholders.

Outcomes/benefits:

The planned outcomes of this project are:

  • Fill information gaps on international markets with pre-competitive research where it is more efficient for the industry to obtain the information once through DA
  • Enhance current international market information and datasets as inputs into Dairy Australia’s analysis and forecasting of international trends and marker drivers
  • Assist the Australian dairy industry shape more effective trade policy responses
