Farm-based webinars

Dairy Australia is offering farmers the chance to update your skills in managing herd fertility, mastitis and farm business management from the comfort of your own homes, via a series of live online webinars.

Topics presented at the recent InCalf and Countdown 2020 farmer workshops held around Australia last autumn are now being offered online.

Register for these events using the links below, then you will be sent a link with a log in to the webinar site. During the webinar, you have the opportunity to interact in real time with subject experts, and get answers to any problems you may be facing.

The webinars are also recorded, and can be accessed via the topic pages in here as videos. Click on the webinar topics in the left hand menu to watch previous webinars.

What is a webinar and how does it work?

  • Short for web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation, lecture, workshop or seminar hosted by an organisation and broadcast to a select group of individuals through their computers via the internet
  • A key feature of a webinar are the interactive elements that allow all participants to give, receive and discuss information.
  • A webinar allows a speaker from the hosting organisation to share PowerPoint presentations, videos, web pages or other multimedia content with audiences that can be located anywhere. The audio feed is one-way coming from the presenter.
  • Participants in the Dairy Australia webinars can communicate with the presenters by typing in questions that the presenters will answer. The audience can also participate in real time via online polls.
  • Dairy Australia webinars generally range between 45-90 minutes in length.

What do you need to attend a webinar?

All you need to attend a webinar is your computer or a tablet, an internet connection and a compatible web browser. (Windows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later (32 bit only); Mozilla Firefox 3 or later; Google Chrome
Mac: Mozilla Firefox 3 or later; Apple Safari 4 or 5; Google Chrome).

Pre-registration is essential. Registration instructions will be given in each webinar event notification here on the Dairy Australia website.
