Fodder Shortage:
feed.FIBRE.future commenced in May 2007 as an urgent industry response to a nation-wide shortage of fodder. From May to October, with funding from the Federal Government and investment from the dairy and beef industries, it helped farmers make informed decisions under conditions of reduced fodder and water availability. Flexible Feeding Systems:
feed.FIBRE.future has been further developed with extra funding from the Geoffrey Gardiner Dairy Foundation and is now managed by Dairy Australia’s Grains2Milk program. It is currently providing information and advice to farmers examining flexible feeding systems that are more resilient to shocks of climate and season affecting pasture / forage availability.
