There are two ways in which candidates may be put forward for election by members – as a nomination from the Industry Selection Committee or with the support of 100 members.

Advertisements calling for nominations through the industry selection process appeared in rural weekly and national financial papers in early May and closed in late May.

However, there is still time for Group A* members to nominate. Candidates have until August 31 to lodge their nomination accompanied with the supporting signatures of at least 100 Dairy Australia members.

A member nomination kit setting out the requirements for this process can be downloaded from the Dairy Australia website (www.dairyaustralia.com.au) or obtained by contacting the Memberline 1800 004 377.

The election will take place at the Annual General Meeting later this year (Friday, November 30).

Directors are elected for a three-year term. Under the Constitution, the election of directors must be conducted by a ballot. To be elected as a director, more than 50 per cent of the votes cast in respect of a candidate must be for the candidate.
