Take control of feed purchasing

Dairy Australia's Grains2Milk program has put together a ½ day workshop and information pack to help farmers take greater control of feed purchasing. The Buying Feed Workshops are being delivered to dairy farmers across Australia with funding from Dairy Australia, the Gardiner Foundation and the Australian government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).

Taking more control and sleeping better at night is all about managing the risks associated with the quality, supply and price of purchased grain, concentrates, fodder and other feeds. Farmers will go home from the workshop with new skills, strategies and knowledge to help them do this.

Grains2Milk has created a 3-step feed buying process to help dairy farmers make better decisions at every step of feed buying, from working out what feed is needed to ordering and receiving feed, and feeding it out to their cows with minimal wastage.
