Mastitis and milk quality affect the bottom line of all dairy farms. Dairy Australia estimates that every case of clinical mastitis costs a farm business approximately $450 in treatment costs and lost milk.
Subtropical Dairy invites you to join us for an on-farm session to discuss some practical management considerations for preventing, detecting and treating mastitis in your dairy herd.
Milking and Mastitis Management (previously, Cups On Cups Off) is atraining course designed to help dairy farmers achieve best practice in milk harvesting, with the emphasis on the detection, treatment and prevention of clinical mastitis.
Dr Bill Tranter will facilitate these on-farm workshops. These will follow on from the online theory session delivered at the end of April. You can view a recording of the online session here (Part I & Part II).
Milking and Mastitis Management covers the whole milking process including mastitis management and the roles of people in the dairy. The course is suitable for anyone on a dairy farm who milks cows - from farm owners, managers and share farmers to family members and farm employees. This training has already helped many dairy farmers to reduce the spread of mastitis and lower the risk of clinical cases of mastitis in their herds.
