Drought Support Series - Transition Cow Management and down cow discussion

Join ourDrought Support Series a set of interactive webinars designed to support dairy farmers managing drought and dry conditions.

This second session in the series will feature a session on managing cow health through the 2025 calving period, with Debbie Twiss, Extension Advisor from Western Victoria. Debbie will discuss metabolic disease risk particularly given the tight fodder market and that fibre is difficult to find. Down Cow management will also be discussed including an overview of the care required to nurse a down cow and importance of making good decisions early.

The session will be a 30-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute optional Q&A.

The meeting will be online (Zoom) and a link will be sent to those that register prior to the workshop.
