Soil Test Interpretation Workshop for Dairy Farmers
Thursday 31st July, 10:30am 2:00pm, Kyabram.
Come along for a hands-on workshop designed specifically for dairy farmers. This practical session will focus on understanding soil test results and how you can use them to improve productivity, pasture performance, and long-term sustainability.
We will also look at the soil results from the project study farm and discuss what management options could be suitable to improve the soil in the focus paddock.
You are welcome to bring any recent soil test results with you to work through as part of the workshop. For attendees that had soil samples taken as a part of the project, your results will be available to look at today.
What you can expect:
- 10:30am - Arrival & Registration.
- 10:45am - Soil Test Interpretation with Christian Bannan. Christian, an experienced soil scientist, will walk us through soil test results from several different farms and discuss what the results can tell us about soil health, structure, and management strategies that may be applied to improve a dairy operation on that soil.
- The next steps in Murray Dairy's project 'Solving soil constraints and improving soil management in dairy production' will be discussed.
- 1pm - Lunch & Networking. Connect with other local farmers and enjoy a lunch provided by us.
- 2:00pm Finished.
