Manufacturing innovation and sustainability support
The growth and sustainability of the Australian dairy supply chain relies on the ability of the manufacturing sector to be cost-effective, innovative and sustainable in a globally competitive environment. Facilitating collaborative industry initiatives, supporting technology appraisal and accelerating technology adoption across the supply chain is at the heart of Dairy Australia's mission. While our core objective is to improve profitability and sustainability of levy paying farmers, Dairy Australia does not limit investment and services to farm-focused initiatives alone. Instead it works across the dairy supply chain (from farm through manufacturing to final markets) profitably linking business partners in order to:
In this role DA also acts a key conduit for dairy collaboration with governments, regional communities and institutions (particularly in the areas of RD&E, knowledge development and issues management) in order to boost understanding and alignment between the industry and broader community groups.
The objective of Dairy Australia's manufacturing-related program is to support the sustainability and international competitiveness of the Australian dairy processing community for the benefit of Australian dairy farmers by:
a) Connecting processors with best-practice resources and technologies
b) Supporting collaborative initiatives and transfer of technology with strong industry-wide potential
c) Assisting manufacturers benchmark, performance track and communicate progress towards their Sustainability Framework targets.
