Introducing Ali Briggs Your New Mid Coast Farm Engagement and Extension Officer

Ali's journey in agriculture began on a stud and commercial beef cattle property in Southeast Queensland.

Ali's journey in agriculture began on a stud and commercial beef cattle property in Southeast Queensland. Raised amidst the intricacies of farming life, she developed a profound appreciation for the industry's challenges and opportunities from an early age. Her academic pursuits led her to the University of Queensland (Gatton), where she studied Applied Science with a focus on Animal Production, further deepening her understanding of agricultural sciences.

Following her graduation, Ali embarked on a career path dedicated to serving rural and remote communities. Whilst her professional endeavours have taken her across various regions, Ali calls the Mid North Coast of NSW home. This decision is grounded in her strong agricultural connections to the area, reflecting her commitment to supporting local farming communities.

In her previous role as the Agricultural & Events Project Officer at Kempsey Shire Council, Ali played a pivotal role in developing and implementing the Council's Agribusiness Industry Plan. Her responsibilities included providing advocacy, upskilling, and support to farmers across different commodities. Additionally, Ali excelled in project management and the delivery of large-scale events, displaying her ability to drive impactful initiatives within the agricultural sector.

Ali has been a prominent advocate in agricultural education and workforce development, presenting at numerous national and international agricultural conferences.
