The annual dairy conferences offer timely panels, presentations, awards and community dinners for celebrating the Tasmanian dairy industry.

The Tasmanian Dairy Conference has developed to be one of the major events on the Tasmanian agricultural calendar. The event regularly attracts a crowd of 200 people including a strong farmer representation. A practical and dynamic program of speakers is always on show with a focus on farm management and innovation.

    2018 Tasmanian dairy conference and awards dinner

    Date: 14–15 March 2018, 8.30am–5pm

    The 11th annual Tasmanian dairy conference was once again being held at the centrally located Country Club Tasmania in Launceston.

    Program

    The focus this year was 'Doing More with Less'.
    The conference and dinner offered a great chance for networking with other farmers, service providers and speakers.

    Tasmanian dairy awards dinner

    The guest speakers were Adam Jenkins—President of the UDV, 2011 Nuffield Scholar.
    Adam discussed his background to entering the dairy industry in 2004 and his journey since which has been driven by the philosophy 'we can't complain if we don't turn up and have a seat at the table'.
    Awards were presented for Business Management, Safety, Environment, Sharefarmer and Young Farmer in 2017 as well as a new award 'Employer of Choice'

Hay and grain reports

The hay and grain report is commissioned by Dairy Australia to provide an independent and timely assessment of hay and grain markets in each dairying region. The report is updated 40 weeks per year.
