Join the Lakes and Craters discussion group for another pizza night at the pub if it aint broke, dont fix it!

Hosted by the group, this event is open to all farmers and service providers.

Its been a long, exhausting and expensive struggle for many. Therefore, we must be due for another get together at the pub, to enjoy some of Simons woodfired pizza, have a drink and catch up with friends. Many have said how these nighttime events are what is needed so we are happy to oblige.

With many running either seasonal or predominantly seasonal calving herds, one area that is presenting a challenge for many is getting next autumns heifers to optimum weight. The lack of green feed in the diet, and or limited resources (both time and financial) has resulted in some lighter than ideal heifers out there.

With this in mind, local vet Xavier McKinnon, Hampden Veterinary Clinic, will discuss options for giving your heifers the best possible chance of a long and productive lifetime in the herd.

We are realistic people and know that the social aspect of the evening is a key attraction - there will be no long presentations! Xavier will hit you with the facts, practical strategies and available resources. Then, following time for some questions, the party can go on for as long as you like.
