Join the Lakes and Craters Discussion Group for a pizza night at the pub.

Hosted by the group, this event is open to all farmers and service providers.

Its been a long, exhausting and expensive struggle for many. Therefore, the group is having another get together at the pub, to enjoy some of Simons woodfired pizza, have a drink and catch up with friends.

With many running either seasonal or predominantly seasonal calving herds, one area that is presenting a challenge for many is getting next autumns heifers to optimum weight. The lack of green feed in the diet, and or limited resources (both time and financial) has resulted in some lighter than ideal heifers.

With this in mind, local vet Xavier McKinnon, Hampden Veterinary Clinic, will discuss options for giving your heifers the best possible chance of a long and productive lifetime in the herd.

Xavier will have a quick chat about facts, practical strategies and available resources. Then, following time for some questions, a pizza dinner will be provided.
