This workshop supports farm employees responsible for calf rearing to improve welfare, biosecurity and antimicrobial stewardship.


Led by Veterinarian Dr Craig Wood, participants will learn and review the fundamentals of colostrum management, calf nutrition and managing the calf rearing environment to reduce the risk of disease impacting growth from birth to weaning.


Attendees will receive the Dairy Australia Rearing Healthy Calves manual, workbook and shed guide to support management of calf rearing on farm.


Lunch will be provided.


About the facilitator, Dr Craig Wood

Craig Wood (Woody) has worked as a veterinarian at Terang and Mortlake Vet since 2002. With over 20 years of dairy industry experience, Woody combines deep local knowledge with a strong focus on improving clients herd health. He has been helping farmers across Western Victoria optimise animal wellbeing and reduce disease risks.
