This two-day workshop provides participants with information on how to make on-farm decisions to efficiently feed dairy cows.
It will cover:
- ruminant digestion and rumen health,
- using and understanding feed tests when buying feeds or using home grown fodder,
- working out nutrients and water requirements for milkers on your farm,
- basic knowledge in using supplements and forages to balance the cows diet,
- learning how to do a feed budget to secure future forage needs, and
- learning about nutritional tools that you can use on farm.
This workshop is designed for dairy farmers, farm employees, and dairy service providers with little or no experience in dairy cow nutrition; as well as those wishing to refresh their nutritional knowledge.
This event is held over two days with morning tea and lunch included each day.
