South Coast YDN are hosting an evening on how to care for recumbent cows (downer cows).

This will be part education, part social event. Come and grab some pizza, share your experiences and learn too.

Did you know that once a cow is down, secondary damage can often be more critical in a cow's chance of recovery than the primary cause of her going down?

Australian research has demonstrated that the quality of nursing is highly correlated to the chance of secondary damage occurring and to her final outcome. Therefore high-quality nursing must be started immediately when a cow goes down.
