Dairy Australia - Dairy information for Australian Dairy Farmers and the industry

Primary content

The Dairy Farm Monitor Project provides a comprehensive physical and financial analysis for farms across Australia. The information enables dairy farmers to compare their farm performance and identify areas for improvement.

Dairy Farm Monitor Project

The Dairy Farm Monitor Project provides an analysis of 250 farms and informs decision making and prioritisation by key stakeholders across the industry including Dairy Australia itself, government bodies and other stakeholders in the industry.

The data collected through the Dairy Farm Monitor Project is now stored in DairyBase and provides the high quality data that allows for comparison of farms, which can be used to identify areas for improvement.

Why the Dairy Farm Monitor Project was created

Farmers are making multiple operational and tactical decisions on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis. Some of these decisions can have lasting impact on profitability and sustainability of their farm.

Dairy Australia provides independent data around a wide range of on-farm practices for farmers to consider when making decisions. This information ensures that the dairy service industry (a broad range of on-farm consultants) can use reliable, independent and useful information and resources to provide the right advice to farmers.

Initiatives

Dairy biosecurity

Dairy biosecurity is vital for protecting your farm. Dairy farmers and their advisors now have access to a new online biosecurity tool to build their skills and adapt their management approach to biosecurity risks.

Hay and grain reports

The hay and grain report is commissioned by Dairy Australia to provide an independent and timely assessment of hay and grain markets in each dairying region. The report is updated 40 weeks per year.
