Dairy Australia - Dairy information for Australian Dairy Farmers and the industry

Primary content

Dairy Australia recognises that these are unprecedented circumstances, and there are questions around how Covid-19 will impact you, your business and the wider industry. We are here to provide you with reliable information and resources to help navigate the uncertainty around dairy business operations and the net impact on the industry.

Dairy remains one of Australia’s most valued industries and Dairy Australia is working with all levels of government and industry partners to ensure that, whatever decisions are made, the dairy supply chain is well supported to continue operating effectively.

Dairy Australia and regional teams are currently working on industry-specific information to assist dairy farm businesses to manage changing workforce conditions. This includes information regarding:

  • Maintaining health and safety in the dairy industry
  • Legal obligations and responsibilities of employers
  • Rights and responsibilities of staff
  • Managing farm operations such as milking, calf management and feeding in changing workplace conditions
  • Working with contractors and suppliers
  • Farm biosecurity
  • Protocols for tanker operators and farmers regarding milk pick-ups

All information will be updated to our Dairy Industry Covid-19 Directory at dairyaustralia.com.au/c19.

The Directory also features a Frequently Asked Questions section where you can submit your own enquiries relating to the effects of Covid-19 on the dairy industry.

Hear from Managing Director, David Nation, about how Dairy Australia is working with Government and industry across the entire dairy supply chain in response to Covid-19.
