Dairy Australia welcomes Federal Government grant to build business skills

The Federal Government has today announced a grant of $500,000 to Dairy Australia to provide financial and legal literacy and risk planning for dairy farmers.

This is designed to support the introduction of the mandatory Dairy Code of Conduct and contribute to increased trust and transparency between farmers and milk processors – a commitment of the Australian Dairy Plan.

The grant was announced by Minister for Agriculture Senator Bridget McKenzie as part of a funding package for dairy farmers totalling $1.51 million.

Dairy Australia Managing Director David Nation said: “This funding announcement is very welcome and will enable us to provide practical information as farmers adjust to operating with the new code.” .
