Dont sell yourself short in the 2021 Census

Australia relies on agricultural workers and the contributions their diverse and interesting roles make to the economy and our everyday lives.  To better understand the agricultural sector and gain a clearer representation of the unique skills and experience of its workforce, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) conducts a Population Census every 5 years. The next Population Census is on August 10.

In the 2021 Population Census, you’ll be asked to answer several questions about your occupation to help the government make important decisions around regional grants, funding and support. The more accurately you record your occupation, the better placed government and industry are to respond to the needs of the agriculture workforce.

Additionally, the current ABS Agriculture Census, will complement your responses in the 2021 Population Census and provide a better understanding of the role of agriculture in your community. Find out more here.

Your role in Australian agriculture is important and should be recorded and recognised correctly.

If you’re not sure how to report your occupation this Census, visit the ABS Census webpage to find out more.
