SDP Rearing Healthy Calves in Practice - SC - Day 3 of 4

Please join us in your region for this interactive series of on-farm workshops reviewing strategic and operational calf rearing management in your dairy farm business.

This workshop series will be delivered by Dr Carl Hockey (RuralVet Pty Ltd) over4 x 2-hour facilitated on-farm sessions,building upon the Rearing Healthy Calves Fundamentals course.

Participants will examine their own calf rearing operations to identify areas for improvement. At the completion of this review, they will be encouraged to develop a farm action plan to support achievement of their specific calf rearing goals.

Day 1 of this series of workshops was kindly hosted by The De Vere family and we focused on preparation for calving, calf housing and calf IDs & traceability.

Day 2 of this series of workshops was kindly hosted by Obi Obi Dairy and we focused on biosecurity, calf husbandry and calf health.

Day 3 will focus on colostrum management, nutrition andweaning.

Calf pathways will be covered in the final session. The series is wrapped up with participants preparing a calf 'plan on a page' for their own dairy business.At the on-farm workshops, you will have the opportunity to share experiences with other participants as they explore ways to overcome roadblocks to improving calf rearing management on their farms.
