Who We Are

Dairy Australia is here to improve profitability by increasing herd and feed productivity and making every dollar count, while remaining focused on sustainable practices that farmers do every day. We also promote Australian dairy, drive community trust and expand market opportunities.

This delivers a proud, successful and valued industry that celebrates dairy, attracts great people and strengthens communities.

Our vision

To deliver world leading outcomes for dairy farmers that drive sustainable profitability through productivity.

Our purpose

To collectively invest in the ongoing success of dairy farmers and the industry.

Our structure

Dairy Australia and Regional Development Programs (RDPs) work together as separate entities to identify and respond to the local needs of the dairy industry across eight regions:

  • Gippsland

  • Murray

  • New South Wales

  • South Australia

  • Subtropical

  • Tasmania

  • Western Australia

  • Western Victoria

Our regional teams are part of these dairy communities and deliver services focusing on the regional priorities identified in collaboration with RDPs.

Regional teams are supported by Dairy Australia’s national team of specialists across strategy, research, development, sustainability, policy support, international trade, marketing and communications.

A skilled and experienced leadership team provides strategic direction and oversees day-to-day operations, while the Dairy Australia Board governs strategy, investment and performance to meet the needs of dairy farm businesses and industry.

Funding

We are funded through levies paid by dairy farm businesses, with matching Commonwealth Government funding for eligible research and development activities. Our core funding also allows us to attract additional external funding for key programs of work.
