The Farm Safety Starter Kit is a set of practical, dairy-specific resources for starting or improving a farm's work health and safety system. Developed by dairy farmers for dairy farmers, it is easy to use and can be worked through in full or section by section.
What is in the kit
The full kit can be downloaded at once, or individual tools used as needed:
- Full Farm Safety Starter Kit — the complete kit in one document.
- Safety checklist — a starting point for working out what a farm needs to do to be safer.
- Induction checklist — for new employees (shared with induction and the manual).
- Safety system snapshot — checks the safety system against current WHS legislation and creates an action plan.
- Earlier safety improvements — records improvements made over the past two to three years.
- Quick safety scans (14 scans) — 30-minute scans covering key hazard areas, for set-up and ongoing reviews.
- Action plan — records and tracks the safety improvements a farm identifies.
