Delivering on our strategy
The 2025-30 Strategic Plan sets the goals, priorities and outcomes scorecard for shaping a profitable and sustainable dairy industry.
The Annual Investment Plan outlines investments and initiatives for the year ahead. The Annual Report and Performance Report then provide an overview of what’s been delivered against those areas.
Key investments in the 2026-27 plan
- Expand Dairy Farm Monitor and DairyBase, including increasing the Dairy Farm Monitor sample size and broadening Victorian representation to strengthen benchmarking and farm business insights.
- Deliver new and updated extension programs to support on-farm decision-making and performance.
- Invest in 12 new feedbase research projects, including clover-rich pasture systems, forage productivity and soil function, while refreshing Feeding Pastures for Profit and Top Fodder: Successful Silage.
- Advance herd productivity through upgrades to genetic evaluation tools, research to improve heifer health and longevity, and redevelopment of Better Heifers and Advanced Nutrition in Action.
- Support farmers to manage emissions and environmental performance through profitable emissions reduction case studies and improved effluent management guidance.
- Strengthen the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of Australian dairy through industry sustainability initiatives, market development, trade engagement and community trust programs.

Alongside the Annual Investment Plan, Dairy Australia has published a consultation playback report that summarises the key themes raised through consultation with farmers and industry representatives and outlines how that feedback informed investment priorities for the year ahead.
