Mastitis and milk quality affect the bottom line of all dairy farms. Dairy Australia estimates that every case of clinical mastitis costs around $450 in treatment costs and lost milk.

Milking Mastitis Management Is a two-day training course designed by Dairy Australia and delivered by a Countdown trained experts in mastitis and milk quality. (Replacing Cups on Cups off)

Day 1is classroom based, covering best practice in milk harvesting, with the emphasis on the detection, treatment and prevention of clinical mastitis along with the importance of good stockmanship.

Day 2covers the whole of the milking process including teat hygiene and disinfection, plant maintenance along with dairy hygiene and plant washing. The course is suitable for anyone on a dairy farm who milks cows - from farm owners, managers and sharefarmers - to family members and farm employees.
