Subtropical Dairy would like to bring together dairy farm employees and young farmers who are looking to build a network in the dairy industry, grow confidence and new knowledge and skills.

This workshop will focus on 'working with livestock' - how to safely handle cattle in dairy herds and identify the signs and symptoms in dairy cows and calves that might give early insight into animal health and welfare and reproduction issues. Justin Schooth, Gympie Vet Services/Apiam Animal Health, will guide the discussion, with lots of time for Q & A around areas of interest from the group.

All dairy farm employees and young farmers are encouraged to attend so please pass this invitation on to anyone on your farm who may be interested in attending. We'd like to continue these sessions throughout 2026 so will be looking for insight from those who attend on what topics or areas of interest would be useful.

Farm owners/employers, whilst not invited to these sessions, are also welcome to contact Belinda Haddow (042300363) to share any thoughts on useful learning activites for future sessions.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided by Subtropical Dairy.
