Heat detection is just one of the factors which will affect reproductive performance in dairy herds.Improving heat detection increases the number of cows submitted to breeding which helps increase the herds in-calf rate. In addition, getting the timing of breeding right can improve conception rates and overall herd reproductive performance.

Join us for an on-farmworkshopin FNQ, with Dr Bill Tranter.

Thisworkshop is a two-hour interactive discussion and Q & A sessionaiming to assist you to confirm whether you have room to improve your herd reproductive performance on-farm and provide you with some practical ideas on how to go about this.Suggested topics for discussion include:

  • all aspects of heat detection, including heat detection aids and new technologies
  • discussion around breeding options - AI vs bulls, pros and cons and getting your system right
  • newer technologies and tools and making them work for your breeding strategy
  • how to review your herd reproduction strategy and decide what changes you might make on-farm
  • herd reproductive disease - how do you know if you might have a problem
