An interactive workshop designed for the calf rearing decision makers, reviewing strategic and operational calf rearing management on your farms.

Building upon the Rearing Healthy Calves Fundamentals course. Participants will examine their own calf rearing operations to identify areas for improvement. At the completion of this review, they will be encouraged to develop a farm action plan to support achievement of their specific calf rearing goals.

Areas of focus include:

  • Preparation for calving, calf housing and calf IDs & traceability
  • Biosecurity, calf husbandry and calf health
  • Colostrum management, nutrition, weaning
  • Calf pathways

The series is wrapped up with participants preparing a calf 'plan on a page' for their own dairy business.

You will have the opportunity to share experiences with other participants as they explore ways to overcome roadblocks to improving calf rearing management on their farms.
