This session provides an accessible introduction to governance and what it means to contribute effectively at the committee table. Facilitated by Irish consultant Nollaig Heffernan, the session is designed for those already sitting on a committee, as well as anyone interested in stepping into committee or advisory roles.
Participants will explore the fundamentals of good governance, including the roles and responsibilities of committee members, the distinction between governance and management, and how to engage confidently and constructively in group decisionmaking.
The session will focus on building the skills needed to lead alongside peers, contribute meaningfully to discussions, and influence outcomes.
The session will also highlight pathways into committees and governance roles, offering practical insights to help participants build capability, confidence, and readiness to take on leadership beyond the farm or business.
Lunch will be provided.
