Sponsoring overseas employees can bring many benefits to a farm business. Increasingly, farmers are utilising this option to recruit motivated, reliable people for their team.

Where to start, whats involved, along with the process, timeline and costs are often barriers to farmers utilising this option.

This practical, interactive workshop will answer those questions and more. Whether you are considering sponsoring employees for the first time or wanting to hear the latest on the options available, this event is for you!

The Dairy Industry Labour Agreement (DILA) is considered the best option when looking to sponsor employees offering great concessions to both employer and employee. You will learn more on how the DILA can benefit your business, even if you are already a Standard Business Sponsor.

Fadi Malek is the Managing Director of Global Skilled Employment Services (GSES). Fadi will cover the practicalities of the process, timelines, approximate costs, visa options, and employer obligations. He will also discuss strategies to retain and develop employees, ensuring a positive experience for both employer and employee.

GSES has also recently launched a farmer friendly portal that allows farmers so view and filter potential employees, along with being able to read resumes. Fadi will step attendees through the process of using this free service.

A highlight of the workshop will be a Q&A session with two local farm businesses. The farmers will discuss their experiences of employing overseas employees, enabling you to learn firsthand from those that have been there and done it.

Moring tea on arrival, and lunch provided. Please RSVP for catering purposes.
