Dairy Business Support Service for NSW Farmers

The Dairy Business Support Services (DBSS) project aims to support dairy farmer business owners across New South Wales in planning and building prosperous dairy farm businesses by offering access to one-on-one support, with an expert consultant, focusing on essential farm business management needs.

The program is funded by the Farm Business Resilience Program (FBRP), supported by the Future Drought Fund, and the Department of Primary Industries Regional Development (DPIRD).

Having successfully supported dairy farmers across the State for the past several years, it will continue to do so until 30 June 2025, with a focus on addressing dairy farm business planning and performance activities for farm management improvement.

There are a total of 50 one-on-one consultation sessions available from 1 September 2024 30 June 2025, covering a number of topical areas for personalised advice on critical areas of farm business management, such as:

Analysis of Profitability and Productivity Drivers: deep dive into DairyBase and Knowing Your Numbers to identify improvement areas.

Business Planning: deeper insights to make informed decisions on business operations.

Farm Performance Planning: focus on key areas like HR planning, herd planning, or data analysis.

Accounting System Software: using it efficiently and effectively for your business finances.

The program also has a total of 4 group activities available to be run (either in-person or online) on topics that are of interest to a broader group of farmers by region or across the State.
