Herd Health Management Course (Timboon)

This course provides new and experienced farmers an opportunity to review a broad range of animal health issues relating to animal health and productivity. This series of workshops will be presented by experienced dairy cattle veterinarians and technicians from Warrnambool and Terang Vets (ProDairy) and WestVic Dairy.

Topics covered:

Day 1: Dairy hygiene; herd nutrition and health care for dairy cows

Day 2: Hoof health and mastitis control

Day 3: Managing heifer rearing fertility and health

Day 4: Fundamentals of calf rearing management from birth to weaning

Farmers can elect to attend any day or a combination of days in the 4-day course.

Location:

Day two will be on farm day; all other days will be workshops presented at Timboon golf course.

Cost to attend day 1-3 inclusive:

• $425 first person
• $250 for second or more from same farm
• Course notes, morning tea and lunch included for participants attending days 1-3
