New Young Dairy Network Coordinator for Murray region

The Murray region’s Young Dairy Network has a new coordinator, with Phoebe Dillon being appointed to the role.

Phoebe currently works as Murray Dairy’s Extension and Farm Engagement Lead Coordinator, and she is excited to hit the ground running with the Young Dairy Network.

“I’m looking forward to delivering good quality educational and social opportunities for young people in the dairy industry to help them thrive and attract other young people into the industry,” Phoebe says.

Phoebe is passionate about the dairy industry, having grown up on a dairy farm in South-west Victoria. Since moving north in 2016, she has worked in Victoria and New South Wales agriculture in roles across veterinary, station, livestock sales and processing and finance. Phoebe is based on a farm in Girgarre East where she grows and trades cattle, and occasionally helps with milking when needed.

Activity plans are already underway for the Young Dairy Network groups in the Murray region. These include the North-east, Numurkah, Tatura and Kyabram, Campaspe, and the North-west. Activities vary from farm tours, field days, social and educational dinners, trivia nights, and workshops in key areas, plus much more.

“I believe everyone should be given the opportunity to learn regardless of their experience or background,” Phoebe says.

“Social networking is a huge part of both professional and personal development.”
