Dairy Australia is the national services body for the dairy industry. Our role is to help farmers adapt to a changing operating environment, and achieve a profitable, sustainable dairy industry. We act as the ‘investment arm’ of the industry, investing and partnering in projects that can’t be done efficiently by individual farmers or companies. Dairy Australia supports extension and education services in NSW through the Regional Development Program, Dairy NSW.
Reporting to the Dairy NSW Regional Manager, the main objectives of the Regional Extension Officer is to ensure that research, development, extension and education investments drive a more profitable, sustainable and competitive dairy farming sector.
We are recruiting for a self-motivated individual who shows initiative and is capable of working autonomously. The appointed individual must be able to build strong relationships with farmers and industry whilst delivering innovative, effective and collaborative regional dairy extension activities in NSW.
Your success in this challenging role will depend on your:
Ability to relate to farmers, service providers, industry influencers, government & private sector providers & to demonstrate understanding of their needs related to the dairy industry;
If you have the skills and experience mentioned above, as well as tertiary qualification in agricultural, veterinary or environmental science or approved equivalent or demonstrated experience in agriculture, project implementation, training and development we would like to hear from you.
