Giving your next generation of cows the best start is essential. The Rearing Healthy Calves (Fundamentals) course will help you ensure you have in place the processes to give your calves the best start to life.


This 1.5 day workshop combines theory and practical sessions to help people learn about:

  • Creating a clean, comfortable environment for calf rearing
  • Colostrum management
  • Safely stomach-tubing a calf
  • Calf identification, vaccinations and castration
  • Meeting the nutritional requirements of calf
  • Identifying and treating sick calves
