Rearing Healthy Calves in Practice workshop 2- FNQ

Please join us in your region for this interactive series of on-farm workshops reviewing strategic and operational calf rearing management in your dairy farm business.

This workshop series will be delivered by Dr Bill Tranter over 2 x 4-hour facilitated on-farm sessions, building upon the Rearing Healthy Calves Fundamentals course.

Participants will examine their own calf rearing operations to identify areas for improvement. At the completion of this review, they will be encouraged to develop a farm action plan to support achievement of their specific calf rearing goals.

Areas of focus include:

  • Preparation for calving, calf housing and calf IDs & traceability
  • Biosecurity, calf husbandry and calf health
  • Colostrum management, nutrition, weaning
  • Calf pathways

The series is wrapped up with participants preparing a calf 'plan on a page' for their own dairy business.

At the on-farm workshops, you will have the opportunity to share experiences with other participants as they explore ways to overcome roadblocks to improving calf rearing management on their farms.

(Whilst it would be great if you are able to attend both sessions, please note you are welcome to attend any of the individual workshop events, even if you have not attended prior regional sessions)
