FOSTER MEDICAL CENTRE

Q Fever vaccination process

You cannot have the Q Fever vaccination if youve already had Q Fever.

The vaccination process has two steps:

  1. First appointment Skin and blood test.
  2. Second appointment (7 days later) Results are checked.
  • If you already have Q Fever immunity, you wont be vaccinated.
  • If not, youll receive the vaccine.

The GP will give you a card showing your Q Fever status (immune or vaccinated) and will add this to your record in the Australian Immunisation Register linked to Medicare.
