Bostocks Creek Focus Farm Field Day

After Pete and Marnie Kerr achieved their dream of purchasing a dairy farm in 2022, the real work began with managing the farm, running and developing the business, all while raising a family.

To support this stage of business and life, they became a WestVic Dairy Focus Farm. With the support of a farm consultant, a WestVic Dairy facilitator, and a group of farmers, Pete and Marnie have gone from strength to strength. This progress has been driven by their positive mindset, strong work ethic, and commitment to continuous improvement.

A testament to their progress is the recent expansion of their operation, with the purchase of a block they had previously been leasing.

To achieve this growth, the business has focused on building profitability, reducing debt, and increasing equity through a strong understanding of farm business performance. By analysing stocking rate, production levels, business costs, and milk production efficiency, they have identified key areas for improvement and implemented practical, effective solutions.
