Pasture Fundamentals

Join us for a one-day workshop that will introduce you to how to grow, manage and understand Rye grass, with Bec Wyper From Dairy Australia- Murray. This is a snap shot, one day session taking key principles from our Feeding Pastures For Profit Program that would usually run over 7 days. The day will finish off with a pasture walk on the host farm. This program is a pathway to our full Feeding pastures for profit program.


This event is aimed at new entrants to the industry and people that would like to improve their knowledge of pasture, to better understand how to best manage rye grass pastures. key focus is on how leaves grow, what influences them and how we can best manage to maximise growth, quality and regrowth. Also what residuals to leave behind and preventing overgrazing


Topics will include:

When to graze to optimise quality and quantity

When to graze the paddock again

How to get the most production out of pasture

What to do with surplus grass heading into spring
