Central North West Tasmania Discussion Group

Join us for the great discussion group re-boot! The Central North West Discussion group covers the region from Sisters Creek through to (roughly) Devonport. For this first meeting we are going to have a 'looking back, looking forward' session. We will be discussing:

• Calving review - in general, how has the calving season been going? If possible, bring along the number of cases of milk fever and mastitis you have had so far this calving.
• Calf rearing - what has worked well/what have been the challenges?
• Weaning - practical strategies for a smooth transition
• Pasture growth - spring is a very critical time for grazing management, where are farms at with regards to silage
• Heat detection - what is your plan for this mating season?
• Irrigation - are you ready?

So many things to discuss! So come along and do it around a bbq and hear how calving has gone for other farmers in the region.
